Orange Amplification’s OR100H guitar amp received the Total Guitar Amplifier Of The Year, last night at the prestigious Music Industries Association Awards (MIA). Earlier that same day it was announced SonicState.com had awarded Best Amplifier Of The Year to the OR100H. These two awards followed on from the Guitar World Platinum Award received in November.
Editor Stuart Williams presented the Total Guitar Amplifier Of The Year, as voted by thousands of Musicradar.com readers, to Orange Amplification at the MIA Awards, held last night, Wednesday 4th December 2103, at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, London. In the review, Guitarist Magazine described the OR100H as ‘all of Orange’s considerable heritage and contemporary ingenuity distilled into a world-beating pro valve head’. Orange Amplification were also shortlisted for a Best Supplier Award last night, voted for by UK music retailers.
Readers of SonicState.com voted for the five most popular guitar amps of 2013, and a panel of editors, writers and reviewers chose the OR100H as the overall winner of the Best Amplifier Of The Year. When presenting the award the SonicState panel commented ‘the Orange OR100H is everything an amplifier should be – it’s versatile, it’s pure valve tone and it’s gutsy enough to put a hole in a brick wall. It’s awesome’.
These two awards come hot on the heels of the recent Guitar World Platinum Award for the latest Orange ‘flagship’ amp, the OR100H. In summing up why they presented the award, Guitar World said ‘with two independent channels, multiple power options and a broad palette of midrange hues, the OR100H is the most versatile amp in Orange’s outstanding OR series’.
‘These awards are significant,’ said Cliff Cooper, Orange Amplification CEO, ‘they recognise the relentless effort the team at Orange puts into new ways of allowing guitarists to make music. We are proud to accept these awards and to have the endorsement of not only our industry peers but the public too.’
